100 Community Values

We are reaching the back stretch of our "100 Community Values" project. To update, local musician Ben Sollee asked us to decorate 100 canvas bags which he will offer for sale while on tour later this winter. In the meantime we liked the idea of "100" and turned this into a installation/performance... with the outcome... of selling our bags. First we spent a month making all kinds of lists of what we consider to be essential community values (you can see the lists in pics) then we pared it down to our top 100 values. Each value was then assigned a canvas bag and the idea is to create an image on the bag that is in some way relative to its assigned value.
Meanwhile we just hung an exhibit of some of the finished bags and our lists of values at Third Street Stuff. Here is where you come in- if you like you can drop over any weekday morning and work on our bags with us. Just give us a call or email us first. By the way - we will be donating the proceeds we make from our bags to a local charity.
