Its Official- Saturday is Latitude Artist Community Day in Lexington!

WHEREAS, Latitude Artist Community combines social services and the Arts to provide avenues of artistic expression to people thought by some to have disabilities; and

WHEREAS, Latitude Artist Community is celebrating its 10th anniversary of nurturing talented artists in Lexington; and

WHEREAS, The sponsors of Latitude Artist Community, Bruce Burris and Crystal Bader, have made significant contributions to social services and the Arts in Lexington through their work with these gifted artists; and

WHEREAS, Latitude Artist Community has exhibited work in 59 solo exhibitions and over 100 group exhibits, installations, and performances; and

WHEREAS, The City of Lexington salutes Bruce Burris and Crystal Bader for the valuable services and support they offer these gifted artists; and

WHEREAS, The City of Lexington salutes Latitude Artist Community for their wonderful contribution to Lexington and our quality of life.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jim Newberry, Mayor of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, do hereby designate Saturday, June 26, 2010 as:

LATITUDE ARTIST COMMUNITY DAY
and encourage citizens to celebrate the work of the Latitude Artist Community.
